Forest Trail is a great place to learn and play! I have taught kindergarten, first, second grade and a 1-2 Looping Class. I have taught in the Eanes district for 30 years. One of the great things about being in one place for so long is that I am now teaching children whose parents went to Westlake High School (Go Chaps!). I have two daughters that went to Forest Trail, Westridge and Westlake High School. Hillary is a 2016 graduate of the University of Texas, and is now married and living in Vancouver, Canada. Abigail graduated from Westlake High school in 2017 and is now attending Concordia University where she is studying Nursing. In addition to two daughters, I also have: a cat-Felix (but I call him Fifi) and a puppy named Tucker. My teaching philosophy is simple, Life is a Journey & so is second grade! I want my second graders to be challenged, have fun, learn to take risks, be problem solvers, make good choices & lifelong friends. In our society today everything is fast and furious, I think it's ok to stop and smell the roses!
In a completely rational society, the best of us would aspire to be teachers and the rest of us would have to settle for something less, because passing civilization along from one generation to the next ought to be the highest honor and the highest responsibility anyone could have. -- Lee Iacocca
